As part of our commitment to providing accessible psychological care, Level Headed Psychology is a registered and approved Work and Development Order (WDO) Sponsor.

We provide services to vulnerable individuals who may not be able to otherwise access or afford psychological support and treatment. We understand that financial stress can often mean that individuals desperately needing mental health treatment and support – may not be able to afford or prioritize the support they need.

What is a Work and Development Order (WDO)?

The Work and Development Order (WDO) is a NSW government initiative that supports vulnerable individuals pay fines and clear their financial debt through participating in approved activities or treatment. For example, an individual may be able to clear the debt they’ve incurred through penalty fines or court fines by participating in approved activities such as Mental Health Treatment, Counselling, Drug and Alcohol treatment, Educational/Vocational Courses, Volunteering or Mentoring Programs.

Who can apply for a Work and Development Order (WDO)?

You may be eligible if you meet one or more of the following criteria:

  • You are experiencing serious financial hardship.

  • You have an existing mental health condition or substance use disorder.

  • You have an intellectual disability.

  • You are experiencing homelessness.

  • You are under the age of 18.

Level Headed Psychology supports individuals with an existing mental health condition or substance use disorder under this initiative.

How does a WDO work?

By participating in an approved activity (including mental health treatment and counselling), an individual may be able to clear up to a maximum of $1000 a month from their accumulated fines. This provides a big relief to many, especially those who are unable to pay their fines, have further restrictions placed upon them because of being unable to pay their debt and those requiring support – however being unable to afford mental health treatment or counselling.

Level Headed Psychology offers Mental Health Treatment and Subtance use counselling as part of the WDO initiative. Individuals may clear up to a maximum of $1000 per month of their participation and their engagement in these activities.  To be eligible, individuals must have demonstrated mental health difficulties or concerns, as well as supporting documentation for reporting purposes.
